Kristina and Kyle's Wedding Dreams Came True - Sneak Peek
Kristina and Kyle’s wedding day was magical. I probably sound like a broken record but I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the vendors who donated their product and services to make this day special. Here is a sneak peek of photographs, courtesy of Jon Burke Photography.
Wedding Planning Continues
Sabrina and Rex had their first glimpse at their wedding venue, Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, CO. It’s a stunning venue and a perfect fit for their October wedding. Ann Marlin of Cloud 9 Weddings went over all of the details of their big day plus they had an opportunity to tour the entire venue including their ceremony site, reception room and where they will be dancing under the stars. Wow, we cannot wait!!
Sabrina also had a chance to meet up with Cynthia Mazzara of Magnifica Bella for a makeup trial. Cynthia is a master at her craft and Sabrina is one lucky lady to have Cynthia do her wedding day makeup.
Say Yes to the Dress!
We are happy to say that Sabrina has said yes to the dress. What a wonderful time we had at The Bridal Collection. Sabrina will, without a doubt, be a beautiful bride. Here are a few photos from the dress shopping appointment.
Sabrina & Rex Proposal
As you know by now we recently announced our recipients of The Wedding Pink 2019. This year’s couple, Sabrina and Rex have a unique story. They are both equally deserving of this wedding; Sabrina is a young, breast cancer survivor and Rex is a retired, decorated, Purple Heart recipient Marine. They are both a joy to be around and we are now blessed that they are part of our Pink Family.
Rex proposed to Sabrina almost 2 years ago. We would love to share the proposal video.
Lovely Article - Cure Magazine
A nice little surprise landed in my inbox yesterday. Cure (curetoday.com) has published a lovely article about The Wedding Pink. We are very honored.

A Few Words from The Wedding Pink Couple, Liz and Lee
It's hard to believe that a month has passed since our beautiful wedding day. In looking back over the last year, we're so grateful to have been chosen for this experience. It was an enormous blessing in our lives and a time that we will cherish for years to come.
When we applied in November 2017, we didn't actually believe that we could be the chosen couple. It's like buying a lottery ticket-- it's fun to dream about winning, but you don't think that you'll actually win the jackpot. The shock and awe that we felt upon finding out that we had been chosen stayed with us throughout the planning process. It's hard to feel worthy of such a spectacular gift, but we are so thankful that The Wedding Pink chose us.
From our first visit to Denver in March of 2018, we knew that this would be a wonderful experience. During our first meetings, our wedding planner, Ann Marlin, was a pleasure to work with and made made everything so easy for us. During that trip, we saw our amazing venue-to-be at The Sanctuary golf course in Sedalia, met with our florist Janelle, selected a wedding dress at The Bridal Collection, and worked with our wonderful photographer, Katie Van Buren. Liz even had a chance to do a makeup trial with Cynthia of Magnifica Bella and felt so beautiful on the day of the engagement photos. It was such fun to meet Cheryl, Melissa, and other members of The Wedding Pink family. We felt very welcomed into this wonderful community.
On our second planning trip in July 2018, we worked on further details for the big day, including meeting with Rev. Kim Tavendale, who worked closely with us to ensure that our ceremony would be perfect. We also loved meeting Chris, our DJ from Elite Entertainment, and Turi Gustafson, who helped to customize the music for our ceremony and reception. We also got to meet with our awesome caterers from Relish Catering, and Lee's favorite part of the whole experience was tasting the delicious cakes with Lisa from A Cake Come True. We topped off the visit with a meet-and-greet with our vendors at Kendra Scott Jewelry, where we loved visiting with everyone and celebrating over wine and cheese.
When it was time for the wedding day, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was a beautiful Colorado fall day with clear skies and a chill in the air. While everyone says that your wedding day is never perfect, it truly was perfect in our eyes. From the lovely ceremony to a delicious dinner and a raging dance party, we had a blast with all of our family and friends in attendance. Throughout the day, we felt excited, grateful, and so happy to be there. All of our vendors, Ann, and The Wedding Pink team worked tirelessly to make it a beautiful, stress-free experience for us, and we are forever grateful to everyone involved. Many thanks to The Wedding Pink for making this possible for us and for future couples in the years to come.

The Amazing Staff at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek
I would like to take a minute to recognize the staff at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, particularly Lisa. Most of you probably are not aware of their generous donations to The Wedding Pink. For the 2012 wedding, not only are they donating a suite for Roxanne and Joseph for 3 nights, but they have graciously offered to host a welcome cocktail reception for family and friends the night before the wedding.
If you are not familiar with the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, here is a brief overview of the hotel:
Escape to the extraordinary Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa and experience a magnificent chateau-style Vail resort that incorporates the grandeur of its idyllic Colorado Rocky Mountain setting. Whether you’re embarking upon self renewal with an innovative water-based treatment at our Allegria Spa, taking in the surrounding splendor from the balcony of your suite-style accommodations or delving into culinary delights at our welcoming restaurants. Park Hyatt Beaver Creek sets the standard for year-round luxury Vail Colorado resort hotel destinations.
From winter ski in-ski out access, to the thrill of white-water rafting, fly-fishing, golfing, hiking and more, you’ll delight in the myriad luxuries this perennial resort in Vail Colorado offers.
During the vendor party at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Roxanne and Joseph had an opportunity to look at some of the rooms and suites. Check out the amazing view from this room!
I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the vendors who are making The Wedding Pink - 2012 a dream come true for Roxanne and Joseph.
Vendor Party and Frosted Pink Weddings
As some of you know we had a little vendor get-together party a couple weeks ago at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Over the next couple months I am going to post photos from the party and highlight some of the vendors who are donating their product and services to The Wedding Pink.
I think it is appropriate to start with Frosted Pink Weddings who has been instrumental in coordinating the 2012 wedding. Pictured above is Kelly Karli, the owner of Frosted Pink Weddings with her team, Lauren and Taylor.
Frosted Pink Weddings is a full-service wedding planning business located in the Vail Valley. Kelly has been a loyal supporter of breast cancer causes and her grandmother Alice, who unfortunately passed away from breast cancer, is her source of inspiration.
Kelly and her team have planned beautiful weddings for many couples in Vail and Beaver Creek. At Frosted Pink Weddings their services are more than impeccable, they're iconic. Whether you're looking to capture classic elegance or show stopping simplicity, they promise to help you create a wedding that makes the most unique and unforgettable statement. Introdrucing Roxanne + Joseph!
I am happy to introduce Roxanne and Joseph, the recipients of The Wedding Pink - 2012. They are a beautiful young couple going through a difficult time, yet Roxanne's positive attitude is infectious. Without a doubt we will all be blessed by knowing her.
Their dream wedding which will take place on May 17 in Beaver Creek, Colorado will certainly be a joyous celebration for all and a perfect ending to her story of survival.
You can read more about Roxanne and Joseph here.
SaddleRidge at Beaver Creek ~ The Venue for The Wedding Pink - 2012
While we are still in the process of selecting next year's recipients of The Wedding Pink I thought I would take a moment to tell you about our venue for next year. SaddleRidge at Beaver Creek is without a doubt one of the most spectacular venues in the entire Vail Valley area of Colorado. We are thrilled to be working with them as they have graciously donated their venue for the ceremony and reception with their executive chef preparing an incredible meal for the guests.
A little more information about SaddleRidge:
SaddleRidge is nestled on the eastern slope on the base of Beaver Creek Mountain. The forty-foot high ceilings and the mismatched antique chairs combine to create a cozy atmosphere, which houses the largest collection of American western antique furnishings, and artifacts. In the elegant but comfortable surroundings, you'll feel as if you have stepped back into the eighteen hundreds with Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley as you choose from the menu offering Western American cuisine featuring game and seafood. With the beautiful view of Beaver Creek the dining room has a full service bar and antique billiard table as well as an old time player piano and original Wurlitzer jukebox. The turn of the century library and the refurbished Larkspur room located on the first floor, featuring many pieces of cowboy and Indian artwork, serves as the primary space for meetings and social functions. In addition to the Clubhouse or main dining room, Library and Larkspur rooms, twelve privately owned villas are attached and uniquely decorated with a theme from the Old West.

Guest Appearance on the Denver Channel 7 Morning Show
I hope that everyone is not getting too tired of all of the recent videos. It is simply that I have been blessed this week with two different tv appearances. Here is an iPhone video from the studio this morning. I should have the actual tv version soon which includes some photos and videos from Melissa and Jeff's wedding, and certainly better audio.
The Wedding Pink featured on Martino TV
I made a guest appearance on Martino TV this morning to chat about The Wedding Pink. A big thank you to Tom Martino and Paula Haddock for having me on the show.

She is working around the clock to bring our last few vendors on board, but more importantly, our selected couple will have the pleasure of working with her on all of the details of their wedding. From Melissa!
My name is Melissa and my husband, Jeff, and I were the recipients of the first annual Wedding Pink presented by Cheryl Ungar Gives. Cheryl asked me to be a guest writer for her blog to give readers the perspective from the point of view of the winners.
There really are not enough words to express how grateful Jeff and I are for receiving this gift. I remember when I received Cheryl’s phone call telling me we had won. I was at work, trying not to scream, while I got high-fives from my boss. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to tell them the good news so I had to contain my excitement until people finally started returning my phone calls.
The Wedding Pink is a wedding giveaway, but it has proven to be so much more than that. As Jeff and I started meeting Cheryl and the other vendors, we quickly realized that the people involved were our angels. Absolutely everyone we met was so caring and willing to help, out of the goodness of their hearts. I believe Jeff and I have made lifelong friends from this event.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 I can honestly say I was in the prime of my life. Young, healthy, active; I never thought news like a cancer diagnosis will come so soon. My day planner quickly became filled with daily visits to the doctors. Cancer is a like a part-time job, although it certainly doesn’t pay. After grueling surgeries and chemotherapy Jeff proposed to me. I was thrilled knowing my dreams were coming true; however, the thought of planning a wedding on my own felt overwhelming. Winning The Wedding Pink not only helped my family and me financially with an amazing wedding, it also gave me the help I needed to plan the wedding of my dreams. Cancer takes a toll on the patient but it is also a huge burden for the friends and family members involved. The Wedding Pink was really a gift to everyone who knows me.
TC of Muse Events, our wedding planner, worked tirelessly to make sure our wedding was everything we hoped for. She gave us total creative freedom while also taking much of the burden off our shoulders. There are too many amazing people to list here, but we are thankful to each and every person who participated. We can all take a lesson on compassion from all involved with The Wedding Pink.
Cheryl has been instrumental in making this amazing event happen and we are forever grateful for her. She is not only an amazing photographer, but she has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. Being that she is a twenty year breast cancer survivor, she gives me hope to know that I have a long and happy future ahead of me.
I also hope that The Wedding Pink acts as a way to spread the word about breast cancer. Yes, we are all bombarded with seas of pink everywhere we go during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But for survivors like us, we think about cancer every single day of our lives. Cancer does not discriminate. I am your sister, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, friend, and your wife. Too many people are affected but love truly heals and a good deed can make a huge impact.
Thank you,
Melissa Childs
