Pink Portraits - Sneek Peak!

We have launched a new program, Pink Portraits, where one day a month we offer complimentary portraits for individuals currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer or for those who have recently completed their treatment. We have teamed up with Natosha Cooke of Natosha Cooke Makeup Artistry who has graciously offered her makeup services for the photo sessions at no charge. Our first day of portraits was a little over a week ago and we had a wonderful day with three incredible women. It was such a pleasure to spend time with each of them.

In the near future we will also be launching a new Pink Portraits blog page sharing the photographs, stories and journeys of these courageous women.

Here are a few of the photos from our first couple photo sessions.

Updates...

You all must think it is very quiet over here since I haven't posted anything for a couple weeks. Actually we have been busy little bees working on all sorts of great things. I am happy to share "some" of it.

Jenny Nelson of J. Nelson Photography and I are gearing up for Roxanne and Joseph's engagement shoot this weekend. Stay tuned for a gallery of photos in the next couple weeks.

Next Thursday, Natosha Cooke of Natosha Cooke Makeup Artistry and I are excited for our first day of complimentary portrait sessions with women who are currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing about their journeys. If you know of anyone who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer or has completed treatment within the last year and would like a complimentary portrait sitting, we still have a couple openings for March 22. They may call or email to schedule an appointment.

We are close to securing our venue for the The Wedding Pink - 2013 and hope to officially announce the date and location in the near future.

We have a huge surprise for this year's wedding. Unfortunately we can't reveal it until the wedding day, May 17!

Please check back to our blog or follow us on facebook for the latest updates.

Thank you for an amazing year!

Wow, it is hard to know where to begin, 2011 has been an amazing year for The Wedding Pink. We held our first wedding this past April at Mile High Station in Denver, Colorado. Melissa and Jeff were the recipients and their wedding was stunning, a beautiful day for family and friends. And, for those of you who do not know, Melissa and Jeff now serve on our board of directors and we are fortunate to have them!

Roxanne and Joseph have been selected for The Wedding Pink - 2012 to be held at SaddleRidge in Beaver Creek, Colorado this coming May. Roxanne's outlook on life is infectious, she remains positive regardless of what obstacle is in her way. Without a doubt, we are all grateful that our paths have crossed.

Believe it or not, we are already working on The Wedding Pink - 2013 among other exciting projects! We cannot wait to share all of news and hope to be able to very soon.

We would like to give a special thank you to all of the vendors who have donated their products and services to The Wedding Pink, to our corporate sponsors and all of the individuals who have donated out of the kindness of their hearts. The Wedding Pink would not be what it is today without the support and generosity of our wonderful community.

Happy Holidays to all, cheers to an extraordinary 2012!

xx

I had the good fortune of meeting Erin and Amy, two sisters who have joined forces to own and operate Express Yourself, a "note-ably unique boutique in Basalt, Colorado". the-wedding-pinkMelissa and Roxanne, the recipients of The Wedding Pink - 2011 & 2012

The Wedding Pink - 2012 is just 6 months away! It is hard to believe that the second annual Wedding Pink is right around the corner. We have accomplished so much in a short year and a half and the entire process has been an amazing journey for me. I truly could not do it without the kindness of everyone involved, so thank you again to the community who supports us and all of the vendors who are donating the services and products.

We are already working on The Wedding Pink - 2013! As we move into 2012 I hope to be able to share all of the wonderful news and exciting ideas that we are currently working on.

The Amazing Staff at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Park-Hyatt-Beaver-CreekThe Park Hyatt Beaver Creek staff. L. to R. Lisa, Christie and Peach

I would like to take a minute to recognize the staff at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, particularly Lisa. Most of you probably are not aware of their generous donations to The Wedding Pink. For the 2012 wedding, not only are they donating a suite for Roxanne and Joseph for 3 nights, but they have graciously offered to host a welcome cocktail reception for family and friends the night before the wedding.

If you are not familiar with the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, here is a brief overview of the hotel:

Escape to the extraordinary Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa and experience a magnificent chateau-style Vail resort that incorporates the grandeur of its idyllic Colorado Rocky Mountain setting. Whether you’re embarking upon self renewal with an innovative water-based treatment at our Allegria Spa, taking in the surrounding splendor from the balcony of your suite-style accommodations or delving into culinary delights at our welcoming restaurants. Park Hyatt Beaver Creek sets the standard for year-round luxury Vail Colorado resort hotel destinations.

During the vendor party at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Roxanne and Joseph had an opportunity to look at some of the rooms and suites. Check out the amazing view from this room!

I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the vendors who are making The Wedding Pink - 2012 a dream come true for Roxanne and Joseph.

Roxanne + Joseph tour SaddleRidge at Beaver Creek

Roxanne and Joseph had yet to see SaddleRidge at Beaver Creek, the venue for The Wedding Pink - 2012. A few of us gathered there before the vendor party to take a tour with the happy couple. I believe it is safe to say that Roxanne and Joseph were in awe of the venue and are extremely grateful to everyone who is making this wedding possible. This was also an opportunity for Roxanne and Joseph to meet with the florists and make some selections for the big wedding day. I will chat more about our amazing florists, Vintage Magnolia and A Secret Garden in a future blog post. Meanwhile, I would like to tell you a little more about the beautiful venue, SaddleRidge.

Nestled in the eastern slope of Beaver Creek, SaddleRidge is home to the largest collection of American western antique furnishings and artifacts outside of a museum. With soaring forty-foot vaulted ceilings and its elegant, yet comfortable, atmosphere, guests feel as though they have stepped back in time.

The cuisine is modern Western American, served in three different dining rooms, all available for private functions. Upstairs you can relax in the frontier atmosphere of the Saloon Bar fitted with railroad chandeliers.

Vendor Party and Frosted Pink Weddings

Frosted-Pink-WeddingsLauren, Joseph, Roxanne, Kelly and Taylor

As some of you know we had a little vendor get-together party a couple weeks ago at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Over the next couple months I am going to post photos from the party and highlight some of the vendors who are donating their product and services to The Wedding Pink.

I think it is appropriate to start with Frosted Pink Weddings who has been instrumental in coordinating the 2012 wedding. Pictured above is Kelly Karli, the owner of Frosted Pink Weddings with her team, Lauren and Taylor.

Frosted Pink Weddings is a full-service wedding planning business located in the Vail Valley. Kelly has been a loyal supporter of breast cancer causes and her grandmother Alice, who unfortunately passed away from breast cancer, is her source of inspiration.

Kelly and her team have planned beautiful weddings for many couples in Vail and Beaver Creek. At Frosted Pink Weddings their services are more than impeccable, they're iconic. Whether you're looking to capture classic elegance or show stopping simplicity, they promise to help you create a wedding that makes the most unique and unforgettable statement. Please check back next week to see some pics from our vendor get-together party in Beaver Creek.

Fun events ahead

It has been a little quiet over here but that is about to change. Everyone is excited about our vendor get together party this afternoon at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek where everyone will have an opportunity to meet Roxanne and Joseph. Speaking of Roxanne and Joseph, they will also be touring their wedding venue, SaddleRidge, today for the first time.

Also this week Roxanne will be dress shopping at the fabulous bridal boutique, Anna-Be.

I will be documenting all of this so please check back for photos!
